RentToll

Privacy Policy

RentToll collects the information needed to run a rental marketplace: account details, verification documents where required, booking and payment records, platform messages and basic technical data. Verification documents, exact addresses and contact details are kept private; public listing pages show only area-level location and a display name.

1. Introduction

This policy explains what information RentToll collects when you use the platform, why it is collected, who it may be shared with, and how long it is kept. It applies to browsing, account creation, listing, booking and messaging on RentToll.

2. Information we collect

Account information: your name, email address, mobile number where you provide or verify one, your sign-in method, and the profile details you give during onboarding such as your user type, rental interests and primary emirate.

Verification information: where verification is required for owners or businesses, the documents you upload — for example an Emirates ID or trade licence — and their review status. These documents are stored privately and are visible only to you and to RentToll administrators reviewing them.

3. Transaction information

When you list or book, RentToll records the details needed to operate and evidence the rental.

  • Listings you publish, including photos, pricing and availability
  • Bookings, rental dates, extensions and cancellations
  • Payment records and their status, and deposit amounts and status
  • Refunds and any deductions applied following a dispute
  • Handover and return records, including condition notes and photos
  • Delivery preferences and the location details needed to complete a handover

4. Communications

Messages you send through the platform are stored so both parties and, where necessary, RentToll can refer to what was agreed. Support conversations and booking notifications are also retained.

Messages may be automatically scanned for contact details and external links so they can be masked or flagged before a booking is confirmed.

5. Technical information

Standard technical information is processed when you use the site: device and browser type, server log data including IP-derived information, and essential cookies or equivalent local storage used to keep you signed in and to preserve what you were doing before signing in.

If you allow location access for 'near me' search, your approximate position is used in your browser to sort results by distance.

6. How information is used

Information is used to operate the marketplace, specifically to:

  • Create and secure your account and personalise what you see
  • Publish and manage listings and availability
  • Process bookings, payments, deposits, extensions and refunds
  • Enable messaging and support between renters and owners
  • Review verification documents and prevent fraud and misuse
  • Investigate damage reports and disputes using booking records
  • Send service notifications about your bookings and account
  • Improve the platform and meet applicable legal obligations

7. Payments and financial information

Card payments are handled by RentToll's payment provider. Card numbers are entered with that provider and are not stored by RentToll; RentToll keeps the transaction record — amount, currency, status, provider reference and what it relates to — so bookings, deposits and refunds can be reconciled.

8. Identity and verification information

Verification documents are processed only to confirm identity or business status, to assess eligibility to list or receive payouts, to prevent fraud, and to meet legal or payment-provider requirements. They are held in private storage, are not shown on public pages, and are not used for marketing.

9. How information may be shared

RentToll does not sell personal data. Information is shared only where it is needed to complete something you have asked for or where the law requires it.

  • With the other party to a booking, limited to what the rental requires — such as a display name and, once a booking is confirmed, the handover details
  • With the payment provider, to process payments, deposits and refunds
  • With a delivery partner, where delivery is arranged for a booking
  • With a protection or insurance provider, where you select such a product
  • With verification and fraud-prevention providers used by the platform
  • With service providers that host, store or support the platform, under contract
  • With authorities or regulators where there is a valid legal requirement

10. Communication and contact privacy

Your phone number and email address are not shown on public listing pages or in chat. Conversations happen in the platform, and contact details in messages may be masked until a booking is confirmed and direct contact is genuinely needed for handover.

11. Cookies and analytics

RentToll currently uses essential cookies and browser storage only — for authentication, session security and remembering the action you were completing before you signed in. These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off.

RentToll also records first-party product events, such as which call to action was used or where a booking flow ended, to understand and improve conversion. These events are stored in RentToll's own database and are not used to build advertising profiles.

If third-party analytics or marketing cookies are introduced in future, a consent control will be added before they are set, and this section will be updated.

12. Data security

RentToll uses reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data, including encrypted transport, row-level access rules in the database, private storage for verification documents, and administrator-only access to sensitive records.

No online service can be completely secure, so RentToll does not claim that data is absolutely protected. Please use a strong, unique password and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.

13. Data retention

Information is kept for as long as it is needed to provide the service and then for as long as required for legitimate business or legal reasons — including maintaining transaction and tax records, preventing fraud and repeat abuse, and resolving disputes that may arise after a rental ends.

14. Your rights and choices

You can view and update your profile information, emirate and rental preferences at any time from your account. You can control which service notifications you receive where an option is offered.

Subject to applicable UAE data protection requirements, you may also ask for a copy of the personal data RentToll holds about you, ask for inaccurate data to be corrected, or object to particular processing. Requests are handled through the contact routes in section 19.

15. Account deletion

You can request deletion of your account. Active bookings must be completed or cancelled first, and any held deposit resolved.

Some information must be retained after deletion — transaction and payment records, verification decisions, dispute records and fraud-prevention signals — where it is needed for legal obligations, accounting, or to resolve a matter already raised. Retained data is limited to what is necessary for those purposes.

16. International data processing

RentToll uses cloud hosting, database, storage and payment providers that may process or store data on infrastructure located outside the UAE. Where that happens, the data remains subject to this policy and to the contractual terms in place with those providers.

17. Third-party services

Third parties used by RentToll — including payment providers, delivery partners, verification providers, protection or insurance providers, and infrastructure providers — operate under their own privacy policies for the data they process as controllers. Please review their policies where you interact with them directly.

18. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the platform develops. The current version and the last updated date are shown at the top of this page (version 2026-09-01). Material changes will be communicated through the platform before they take effect where required.

19. Contact

Privacy questions and data requests can be raised through the support channels shown in the RentToll footer and Help & safety pages, or from within your account so the request can be matched to your records.

RentToll's final legal entity and registered privacy contact will be published here once confirmed.

These pages are RentToll's platform policies written for our current product. They are not legal advice and should be reviewed and approved by a qualified UAE legal professional against RentToll's final legal entity, payment and insurance arrangements, and applicable UAE law before being relied on in a dispute.
